The Central Valley Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is hosted by the Central Valley Health Network (CVHN) and focuses on coordinating collaborative workforce development activities in response to member health centers’ needs in the areas of recruitment, retention and on-going staff development. CVHN’s mission is to advocate for community health centers’ strength in the health care delivery system and to support members’ effective delivery of high quality and accessible health care.

Incorporated in 1998, CVHN is comprised of 16 Community Health Center corporations designated as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). FQHCs serve people of all ages, races and ethnicities and people with and without health insurance. CVHN was established to conduct advocacy at national, state and local levels on behalf of its Central Valley membership of FQHCs and their unique patient population specific to the Valley. CVHN’s members are located in and serve high-need communities throughout California’s greater Central Valley, where they provide comprehensive primary health care services to low-income and medically underserved families. CVHN’s network is also recognized nationally as one of the largest networks of Migrant Health Centers serving rural, farm-working populations and their families.
