The North Bay AHEC is hosted by Aliados Health, a regional association of 16 community health centers with sites in Marin, Napa, Sonoma, Contra Costa, Solano & Yolo counties.
Aliados Health resulted from the merger of two strong community health center consortia, each of which was founded to improve access to high-quality primary care for underserved and uninsured people in East and North Bay counties.
Our health centers are on the front lines in establishing creative & innovative solutions to health and social justice challenges, leading in care transformation, and reducing health disparities.
The North Bay AHEC partners with academic institutions and community organizations to:
- Coordinate the AHEC Scholars program including recruiting and placing students in a community health setting and providing ongoing guidance & mentorship to students enrolled in the program.
- Support Community Health Worker (CHW) training programs and supervisor peer groups and CHW convenings.
- Support provider trainings for the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program in partnership with University of CA, San Francisco.
- Host a UCSF Pharmacy Student to work on supporting health center clinical teams.
- Support the expansion of the Solano Health Equity for African American/ Black Lives Collaborative and the provision of community-based training.
